Gabriel Fauré: Ketty Valse (from "Dolly Suite"), Opus 56, No. 4 (SMB #131)
(Ketty Valse, re-entitled: A dog's point of view; text by Burr.)
The people whom I take to walk I love and yet deplore; such things of real importance to me they all persistently do ignore. The sights and smells that do thrill me they seem to stolidly pass by, then stop and stare in rapture at simply nothing in the sky. They waste such time in stopping to look at things like flowers. They pick the dullest places to settle down for hours. Sometimes I do wonder if they can hear and smell; such vital things escape them and yet they mean well!
